"Contemporary Realistic Pastel Painter with a Flare of Impressionism"

Cheryl's paintings blend realism with a flare of impressionism, not getting too detailed, to portray a painterly feeling of the pastel. Her goal is to transpose a colorful and lush feel to the scene to draw the viewer into the space. Interest in the play of color and light in the landscape is what attracts her to her subject matter. “The natural scenery in Maine is what brought me to live here and my paintings come from my surroundings and travels. I hope to capture the natural compositions for viewers to experience my vision. I work primarily in pastel and combined with an under painting wash of pastel I create layers of color, depth and mood”.
